President's Word

 

It is with great pride and joy that I present to you our school's official website, www.esh.edu.tt. As a collaborative effort between the Principal, Staff and the PTA, our website will reflect the school's involvement in both academic and extra curricular activities.

A special committee, consisting of both teachers and parents, has been formed to undertake the management and maintenance of our school's website. In the coming months, we will refine the static content. The dynamic content and related photos will be updated once every school term i.e. three (3) times per year.

This committee will also be addressing the communication needs of the school and exploring the use of technology in meeting these needs. The school's website being the first step in this direction.

We are intent on creating a database of e-mail addresses to keep our stakeholders in touch and fully informed at all times. Invitations to PTA meetings, school events as well as updates to our website, will be sent via this electronic medium.

Research is also being conducted in Group Texting (SMS Technology). This will give us the ability to send a text message to all our parents' cell phones in the event of an emergency. 

Our tests have shown that we can send one (1) text message to four hundred (400) cell phones in just under an hour, at a total cost of $150.00TT.

We will seek corporate sponsorship for both notification and emergency text messaging, SMS Management Software, along with our school's Internet connectivity needs. Once these areas are covered we will construct a database of both bmobile and Digicel phone numbers.
